Thought I would get the ball rolling for the football off season.
Looks like Bailey Hockman is planning on a transfer:
Thanks for the effort Bailey, deuces.
I figured Bailey would transfer. He's proven he can play at a D1 level, but he's got Leary ahead of him in his class, and we have the next stud QB coming in as a recruit.
I appreciate what Hockman did this year.....
We got all of the goodie out of Bailey Hockman this year and some of the baddie too. He can win a lot of games for a G5 program
I think we all knew we were playing with house money, and it was good while it lasted. I wish the best for Hockman and hope he finds a situation where he can excel and help a team while enjoying the experience. For us, let's hope we get a full year from a healthy Leary next season.
Thanks to BH-very good job all things considered-talked to a relative of Bailey's at the end of the Miami game; he was a fan of Beck's, but not DD.
Hockman should have been 4th on next year's depth chart. Why they didn't let Little Fin (who will likely be 2 or 3) get some experience in the bowl...the mind boggles.
He should have gotten reps after Leary went down. No reason not to.
He played some in one game didn't he?
78: The “he” you mention that liked Beck but not DD, I assume you mean the family member, correct? Did this person give you a read on BH’s perspective?
Hockman definitely improved this season. This year shows what a competent QB/OC can do in season with players, particularly when compared to the train B wreck that was last season.
Indeed the family member...we were all disappointed of course in the Miami outcome, but no in-depth discussion of Bailey's feelings, he was speaking from his own perspective.
Emezie coming back for 5th year
That is good news.
Article here discusses the transfer portal and in a general way the way State staff monitor it.
TOS is reporting that Joker Phillips will be hired to replace McDonald as WR coach-this would be a big-time get:
Joker is confirmed.
Why so serious?
This is definitely a big get and looks like Beck's presence paying off - they worked together at tOSU a few years ago. I hope this allows us to land one or more difference maker WRs.
If Beck's a coach that other coaches want to work with, that is good. Roper also has ties to Joker, so maybe that means Roper is staying as well (was hoping we were making changes there).
The area I think we need the most improvement on is OL. If we make strides there, we could be very happy Pack fans.
TOS says Beck might be in play for UCF.
Ooh crumbs. I do like the sound of "The Roper" and "The Joker", though.
That'd be a kick in the @#($*).
I pulled up some other UCF threads and Beck isn’t even listed out of 8 candidates. Heupel seems to be taking his offense assistants to UT. State will be unable to corner the market of crazy fans because the Vols are loaded with nuts.
