Philip Rivers to Colts???

I think enough of us are interested in this to start it's own thread.

Peter Kings thinks Colts is a very possible landing spot -> Peter King Story
Former teammate Melvin Gordon agrees.. Colts -> The Big Lead Story
Raiders in the mix?  -> Raiders Wire Story

No longer seeing much mention of the Florida teams being in the mix.  I think the Colts would be his best chance to make some more noise in the playoffs before retiring.  Guess that would likely bump our buddy Brissett out of a starting gig.

It would suck for JB, but he's not a NFL starting QB on a winning team.  He's an emergency back up player.

Reading big Phil been seen in Raleigh lamenting over the state of STATE fooball.  Telling Boo to slide grumpy Dave outta the way and that he's about to bring the passion and excitement back to NC State football.

.....wouldn't that be fun if true

Philip is...an interesting personality.  And his dad was known to be quite the jackass (in NC high school circles), so I wouldn't necessarily hold my breath for him coaching anywhere.

Brissett is one of the best backup QBs in the NFL, but he has limitations that mean he won't be a "contender" starter.  Rivers to Indy for one last shot likely makes the most sense for all parties involved.

Dear Glazers, Please drop the moron Jameis and bring in Philip for 2-3 years to groom a draft pick QB.. All the Bucs lack is a solid intelligent QB.  The defense is there.  The O-Line is there.  The receivers are more than there.  Jameis is a LOSER.

That's an interesting statement.. why do you believe that would have an affect on his decision to coach?

I don't think he'd deal with the personality issues (of teenagers and slightly older folks) well.  Though I was mostly making a point regarding the reference to Doeren's dour personality.

Rivers would be fine coaching if that is what he wanted.  He can't be raising 9 kids if he doesn't know how to relate to younger generations.

People also grow and mature. I used to be a complete ass. I'm still driven and still hold myself and others to high standards, but a wife and children have changed my approach.

I agree he's going to take 1-2 cracks with a better team before he hangs it up.

My thoughts....  His has enough kids to qualify as an expert..  NOW, we don't get all the headlines.  BUT, never heard any issues about his kids.  Typically celebrity kids rebel.

Look at Stephen Speilberg's daughters new "Passion" - Porn Queen  She wants to rack up as many AVN's as her dad has for his work....

No Rye, I'm sorry but I fabricated it all for dramatic effect to continue to express how I wish we had a different personality strolling the sidelines.  I'd love to have Rivers' passion.

If PR can coach, I'd love to see him on the sidelines.  Going in as an assistant or the like to get his feet wet would be a good barometer.  (Okay, weather pun not intended.)

If the Chargers go after Brady, that'd be some high comedy.

Brady would die behind the Shitty Clippers OL.  So, I am all in favour of it.
